Faction: Sansha's Nation
Mission type: Encounter
Space type: Normal
Damage dealt: em 54% / therm 46%
Web: Starbase Stasis Tower
Recommended damage dealing: em/therm
Recommended ships: Arbitrator (DR: Easy)

Single Pocket

5 waves of Sansha's Nation ships. Each wave has 1 trigger ship. It is usually (one of) the ships with the highest bounty. Beware, the asteroids in this mission are rigged with strong smartbombs, so mine them at your own risk. Although the ships themselves may differ from what you see, the total dps should never change (much) and the numbers below should give you a good idea of what to expect.

These ships are all short range, if you begin the engagement at 50km and kite them, you'll likely not need your hardeners at all.

WAVE 1 (On Warp-in)
1x Starbase Stasis Tower {kill this first}
9 Assorted Frigates and Destroyers
Total = EM 62, Therm 46 = 108 dps

WAVE 2

3x Centii Plague
1x Centii Savage
3x Centior Cannibal
3x Centum Ravager
1x Centum Ravisher
Total = EM 87, Therm 77 = 164 dps

WAVE 3
4x Centii Loyal Slavehunter
3x Centior Cannibal
3x Centior Devourer
1x Centum Ravisher
Total = EM 105, Therm 92 = 197 dps

WAVE 4
3x Centii Butcher
4x Centii Loyal Plague
3x Centior Misshape
1x Centum Ravisher
Total = EM 107, Therm 98 = 205 dps

FINAL WAVE
3x Centii Enslaver
4x Centior Horror
1x Centum Hellhound/Fiend
Total = EM 102, Therm 78 = 180 dps

Mission Total DPS: EM 464, Therm 391 = 855 dps

Don't mine roids or you'll be attacked by "Beacon", that deals about 2000 damages in 10 seconds.

Blitz: Kill trigger in every spawn (complete mission objectives asking you to "Kill their high-ranking officers")
-- TontoAuri (2008-07-31 17:40:56)
If you're going to mine the giant Veldspar, note that the Beacon will hit you for 250 damage (assuming equal amounts of all dmg types)

The Local chat will state that a trap an asteroid was triggered and you were hit by a smartbomb.

I was able to mine all veldspar. In a hulk with 1*invul II, 1*small shield extender II.
Never got below 64% (85% avarage after a hit) and my mining drones where not hit by any damage. (It gave irregular damage)
0,43 mill veldspar mined. (There was not 1,8 mill as said in the mining in missions guide other roids also a lot smaller/less then said in the mining in mission guide.)
But they were close, just placed myself in the middel.
(Onl tried this mission once, so not confirmed)

Completed Mission in a Retribution.
H: 4 Medium Beam Laser II
M: Cold-gas AB
L: Small "Accomodation", Reflective Plate II, N-Type Thermic Hardener, Cap Power Relay I, and DCU II. (70em, 74therm, 69kin, 83exp on armor)

Took a while of orbitting the buggers. Adv Wp Upg 4 a must: 69.52/70 PG; 141.4/156.25CPU.

did in an apoc for the tank and used drones entire time. had trouble killing a ship that spawned for me called the centii loyal enslaver it took like 5 mins with my drones to kill him

Each completion or termination of a mining cycle has a 50% chance to set off a 500 EM damage trap (before resistances are applied).

Tips:

1. the trigger ship for the next spawn in any wave is the unusual ship, which may NOT be the biggest.

2. This allows the following tactic: kill the other ships first, then allow your tank to rebuild while taking fire from only the trigger ship. [Do the stasis tower AFTER the non-trigger ships, not that it is particularly difficult to take out.]

3. if you are sufficiently far away [over 125 km] the next spawn will NOT aggro automatically. When you're kiting the lot and start at 50 km, getting this far out is easy. They will auto-aggro when you close to within 125 km.

If you do this, the fastest Centii will come into range first and then the others somewhat after -- which makes the spawn easy to kill piecemeal. Don't worry if this is the trigger ship -- you'll be so far out that the new spawn won't aggro.

Done March 2010 in an AF. You could probably also do the mission in any combat frigate with four weapons via this means -- Punisher, Kestrel, Merlin, Rifter, etc.

Tip for Blitzing:
Sort your overview by type, and kill the odd man out, ignore the rest. eventually you'll hit the last trigger ship, and the mission is over.

This page needs to be updated to reflected proper rat names, and which ones that use the tracking disruptors.
-- ColtinPyrlik (2012-08-30 15:29:13)
Did this mission in an Apocalypse Navy Issue. My guns had serious trouble hitting any of their ships even at 50km, probably because of the tracking disruption, and my drones had trouble with some of the "Loyal" ships.
-- IlnaurkSithdogron (2012-11-11 08:53:13)
My range was down to 4.5k with multi in heavy modulated energy beam running two opticals with optimal range scripts. NPC simply unkillable.
-- TheNetdoctor (2012-12-13 21:56:07)
Mission changed NPC corp standing by 2.13±0.08 %.
