Taisu Magdesh cannot be webbed
-- KoyamaIse (2008-07-27 01:06:58)
I killed named battleship (Ratah Niaga) first, but mission didn't complete until I'd killed all ships, with the last for me being a Mercenary Overlord.
-- StonE (2008-08-05 19:34:19)
All within 20km and all aggro at warp-in. Damage is pretty heavy. I had 1x EM, 1Therm, 1x Kin and 1x Invul Field as hardeners.
-- TomSchlong (2008-08-28 10:48:12)
Using an armor tanked 'Phoon I used 1xEM and 2xKin hardeners (my ship has an anti-explosive rig).

The best way to deal with this mission is to be able to take all the aggro right away and take out Ratah Niaga, if you don't he will run as indicated. If you can't handle all that DPS the alternative is to warp in at 70km (you will be outside of Niaga's precision cruise range) and pick off the support ships.

Then, either warp out and back in to the beacon where you are closer to him or get a friend with a webber to slow him down. He has a tough shield tank and is weakest to Kinetic, you're going to need a lot of DPS to take him down though -- solo with a 'Phoon you'll need Wasps and 1200mm Arties, Wrath Furies could help if you have skills to use them. Otherwise you'll need to warp out and go with torps (webber friend required).
-- PorlenzColhart (2008-08-31 13:15:02)
using semi passive drake i only needed to turn on one invul field, and i ran to kill the named bs first (used drones to kill the webber frigates) was pretty easy
-- XollstCriticus (2008-10-15 19:05:20)
I dared to warp to 0 with a Mael w/ 5 power diags, X-large shield booster, invul, 2 magnetic resist amps, 1 each heat and kin resist amp (all mods T2), and CCC I rigs. Bad idea. DPS was enormous.

Warped out and back in at 100 km though (warp-in trick works), piece of cake. Didn't need any MWD or AB as I got Tauron as named BS.
-- AremonMoonserpent (2008-11-18 09:03:44)
Did this in a Drake, had to warp out the first time because of heavy DPS. I had 2x T2 passive shield hardeners, one tT2 thermal and a T2 invulnerabilty. Went back with 2x kinetic and 1 Thermal and worked pretty good, only loss 50% shields. Did not have a problem with any of the mission rats, they all closed within 10km from me with Tauron having a webbie on him. Had 7x Heavy launcher II's with EM rage worked really well and took out all the rats in less than 10 minutes.
-- GanjaMan (2009-02-01 01:02:52)
Initial DPS is above average but nothing scary. But if you lock onto the named rat, in my case Taisu Magdesh in a Raven, they go down pretty quickly.

Setup as follows - Hyperion: 8 x Neutron Blaster Cannon II (Antimatter), 4 x CAP Recharger II, 1 x AFB, 1 x Large Rep II, 1 x Kin Hardener, 4 x Energized Adaptive Hardener II (RIGS: 2 x CCC, 1 x ANP)

No nice loot... :(
-- Peon155 (2009-02-04 10:48:16)
Completed in a CNR. Initial damage is a bit threatening, but drops off quickly when you take out the named guy. Used one EM hardener, 2 invulns. I got Tauron, he dropped quick with thermal, but didn't drop anything interesting.
-- KismetEer (2009-02-15 19:26:08)
used a Raven; T2 cruise launchers and BCS, ordinary T1 Wrath missiles, and a signal booster to increase lock range to 110km+. came in at 100km and easily killed the Cruisers and Battleships while drones ate the webbers. Returned at short range for the sentry guns. Ratah was running, but I warped in for 3rd time at the mission's zero point and he wasn't far enough away (only 75km) -- didn't need an AB or MWD. One EM and two Therm T1 hardeners plus two Large T1 shield expanders and Target Painter.
-- BuilderAlphaOne (2009-03-08 22:45:39)
Aye, inital aggro damage is pretty good, nothing too bad though.

Dual Pithi A-type Vargur with 1x SBAII 2x invuln IIs got to 50% shields in the 5 km it took to kill the named BS, but otherwise a 5 minute mission
-- PwettQuant (2009-03-23 19:09:09)
I ran this mission EASILY with warp to 0, got magdesh, Bhaalgorn, T2 LAR x2, therm/kin/em/exp hardeners, 1 each, eight MegaModPulseEBeams, tripple AuxNanoPumps, and I shreaded the nammed BS, and quickly dispatched everything else, my tank never even broke, or if it did it was by so little I didnt notice it before killing the nammed.
-- Ssbn732 (2009-03-24 13:48:02)
i had Ratah Niaga version (Minmatar space) and first time ever i've got a faction item from this storyline, Dread Guristas passive Explo hardener which is one of the worst faction item in game (5m isk value)
-- XeNcIeTh (2009-04-30 08:59:49)
Ratah Niaga also. Took some killing in my Domi drone boat, will try wasps next time. Dropped faction loot. Dread Guristas 425MM railgun.
-- PooterSezno (2009-07-12 06:38:30)
I've got +8,75% Standing increase for this Mission, should be 7% without Social-Bonus.
-- GouvViki (2009-08-01 14:18:37)
Verified that it IS safe to kill the named BS first in a maelstrom.

Used a 6-slot tank (XLSBII, SBAI, ThermIIx2, EMII, InvulnII) with 6 cap flux II in the lows and 800mm auto IIs in the highs. Tank nearly stable with initial aggro (Tauron), totally stable after sentries died.

Time to completion: ~ 10 minutes while my drones mopped up the frigates and my alt salvaged.
-- GreigT (2009-08-15 04:30:01)
Got Ratah Niaga, crappy loot. DPS is impressive, but armor did not drop below 80%. Completed in Navy Poc with Scorch crystals and in the lows: 1 heatsink, 1 amarr navy LAR and 6 hardeners (2 kin, 2 ther, 2 em).
-- BalaNah (2009-08-15 09:03:00)
250km orbit? Bring FOF cruise.
-- NatashaSeryushkin (2009-09-10 19:07:51)
Did this surprisingly easy in a phoon.
Warped in at 100km. Insta aggro from mercs. Killed wingmen with Warrior II's.
Kited away until beyond sentry range. Slowed and killed BC's and BS's with Proton L, Cataclysm Cruise and ValkyrieII at range. Now only Ratah Niaga and sentries remain at warp distance. Warped to sentry (boss at 50km) and AB'd towards him while pummelling with Wrath Cruise/Proton/Valks. No faction loot.
-- LooteFisk (2009-09-24 16:34:35)
You can do it with Ishtar , but only if you have dual repairer. No faction drop from Tauron, and he webbed me from 23/23+ kilometres...
-- SpLend0r (2009-10-04 12:35:43)
Did this mission in a Sleipnir, no trouble with 3xInvul II. Taisu Magdesh Orbits at approx 4500m so orbit at 250 km is kind of a bug i think.
Dropped a taisu magdesh's insigna.
-- Spiff51 (2009-10-14 09:37:32)
Very hard. use faction ammo.
-- MrT (2009-12-11 13:25:00)
Done in around 10mins in a passive Drake. Very easy - killed towers, then web frigs, then the bodyguard BSs and then cleared the rest ending with the boss. Loot and Salvage was a load of crap.
-- ThaThanka (2010-03-11 20:51:05)
This is one of the easiest missions I have experianced recently, took about 10 min, killed Ratah Niaga first, then semi-afked the rest.
Nighthawk, full active tank, Gist B-Type Large shield booster, CN Boost amp, 2x T2 Invulns, T2 EM hardener, T2 DCU, 3 BCS, 6 CN heavy launchers.
Anyone that has trouble with this mission need to take a closer look at their tank.
-- Ssbn732 (2010-04-10 20:08:08)
Very easy in Abaddon, I've had harder lvl3's

loadout 8x mega modulated beams, 1x em hardener II, 1x thermic hardener II, repper, pdu and 3xheatsink II the rest was cap related modules

Warped in at 70, killed named BS, my hobgoblinII's took care of the frigates, wasted everything else - all in all, was done within 5/6 mins
-- PlecostomusGibbiceps (2010-05-08 20:37:35)
I got Tauron. I warped in at 0km in a passive T2 fitted Drake.
I wasn't well hardened against Thermal, so initial DPS was very high. I lost 20000 shields in 75 seconds and warped/wimped out. But I came right back with the same fit at 100km and wasted them effortlessly.
Widowmaker heavy missiles did 3x more damage than Scourge. Lousy loot.
Tauron webbed me down to something like 18m/s.
-- FlatchGordon (2010-05-21 03:54:39)
Very easy in Dominix/DominixNavyIssue. Warp to 70, drop Warden II, primary the named guy. He is down before the NPCs even put pressure on your tank. Once everything out of 20km Range is dead, scoop Warden II, deploy Wasp II and take care of the close-orbiting ships. Peace of cake.
-- SyzGre (2010-06-16 22:41:41)
Easily done with Maelstrom in "Baby Vargur" fit (see Battleclinic). 2 EM and 1 thermal hardeners.

- Warp in
- *Don't lock* but go towards the boss
- Kill the sentries to reduce kin damage
- Send drones on frigates
- Now lock and kill the boss

Important bits are to kill the sentries and webbing frigates fast (use T2 drones) and to have a good shield.
-- VaerahVahrokha (2010-08-14 05:36:03)
Edits to the above:
- you send drones at the same time while killing the sentries of corse
- I did not need to use any AB or MWD because the boss did not make in time to get away, so it's possible to drop it and place a kin hardener for a much easier mission. The initial DPS is indeed somewhat scary, expecially if you let the webs slow you down to a crawl.
-- VaerahVahrokha (2010-08-14 05:42:22)
Ratah Niaga dropped DG SBA for me now. So can confirm it's worth it to check what's in the wreck:)
-- ZeeRover (2010-10-04 22:38:03)
Ratah Niaga Salvages into 15 Tripped Power Circuits(1.5 mil). Rest of salvage is mostly Metal Scraps so don't bother.

Completed in Drake. Let Ratah go. Killed Webbers with Drones. Killed Sentry Guns. Picked off others used therm missiles. Docked 100 mwd, salvager. Caught Ratah used Kinetic and drones.
-- ChenParn (2010-10-17 18:00:08)
Got Niaga, and a DG cruise missile launcher dropped - 40m right there :D definitely check the wreck :)
-- Jarob22 (2011-02-02 09:38:02)
Easy mission except the coward Ratah did indeed attempt to stay out of my targeting range. I used an alt with a remote sensor booster but if I didn't have an alt a sensor booster would have done the trick. You can also use an afterburner to run him down.
-- CmdrTarlton (2011-05-04 19:07:25)
Can be done in a Myrm. MAR2 (complex version is likely less stressful), 1 each type energized membrane 2, EANM 2; AB2, TC2 with both scripts ready, 3X recharger 2;, railguns of your choice with tungsten and antimatter in the cargo bay; 5XHam2s. Warp in at 70 or 100km, head directly away from the mercs, who will chase, then pick them off from small to large. After the last BS, chase the named target. Leave the sentry guns until last. L4s in BCs aren't everybody's thing but they are fun while you're saving for a BS.
-- HaoZhuYi (2011-06-16 11:08:06)
Finished in Navypoc. 2 therm 1 em 1 kin hardener. Focus fire on named and dps drops off. Ratah dropped a 'Pandemonium' Ballistic Enhancement valued at about 24 mil. Salvage was utter crap from him :)
-- TyrrMortalion (2011-07-29 00:41:33)
Only named NPC was Taisu Magdesh. Warped in at 50km. Killed them all in less than 5 min. Sniper Maelstrom-Republic Fleet Phased Plasma for thermal damage. Very easy.
-- CmdrTarlton (2011-12-15 11:51:47)
Warped in 100km popped everything that approached. Tauron webs, no faction loot.
Easy mission.
-- ReaveToralen (2013-01-06 13:47:32)
about a 3% standing hit for me with Gallente Federation, derived modification.
