From Ratzap:

I was just doing the L4 damsel in distress and noticed I 1 vollied Krull - no reinforcements wave as he didn't get time to shout he was under attack (pity cos I wanted the loot/isk).
-- ChepeNolon (2008-05-26 19:17:45)
I've complete this mission before and after Empyrean patch. Before patch I did accidentally attack of Kruul in first gates. And that caused spawn.
Right after patch I got same mission again. This time I was smarter and didn't attack Kruul. But still they spawned.
-- MonsterDude (2008-06-16 15:14:10)
If you want to avoid triggering the spawn prematurely then do not use drones at all until you are ready to attack Kruul, which will trigger them. Drones tend to accidently attack him on their own inbetween your target kills.
-- GaramisTakians (2008-06-17 01:56:09)
Drones will not "accidentally" attack if set to passive in your drone settings drop down.

For that matter drones are best set to passive on any mission with triggers since they always seem to attack triggers first.
-- BiiteMee (2008-06-29 11:22:32)
This mission is the best one IMHO to test your tank. The four spawns alltogether give about 1800/2000 dps all damages (because the assassins at the last spawn). The apocalypse navy issue runs this fury dps with dual officer LAR , 2x officer Kin hardeners , 2x officer Thermic hardener , 1x corpum A eanm. Don't try that if you don't have a perfect tank :)
-- BlasTerd (2008-07-01 10:45:20)
This mission is perfect for torpedoes imo. Everything spawns within perfect range.
Did it just yesterday thinking, why not try some Siege Launchers on my CNR, since the merc BS always come very close.

Worked like a breeze, probably finished the mission twice as fast.
-- Sp4rt4nII70 (2008-07-07 16:01:32)
This is my favorite level 4 mission, if you set drones to passive till ur ready to take out kruul u shouldn't have any problem (after that u can just set them to aggressive again), also very easy to salvage case its all under 20kms.
-- DarkiShi (2008-07-07 18:40:51)
Tried to pull a nice one. Saved an almost-through-hull pleasure garden for the moment the other pleasure garden spawned it's first wave of ships. Then blew that one up. But sadly they where not affected by it at all. At all.
-- RamZahn (2008-07-10 17:05:43)
When i done this i got the second spawn even though i killed the casino so don't count on it not appearing also there is 2 pleasure hubs u must destroy spawns don't appear till u start killing second one the senitals (bs) drop good loot large guns some named zor drops his usuall crap i also tried to use the pleasure gardens explosion to damage npc's but didn't work fun mission
-- NeoXr2i (2008-07-25 20:12:38)
Did this comfortably using only one rep in a standard apoc. 2x kin 1x therm 1x eanm, 2x heatsinks + amarr navy large rep. Megapulses track the <5km orbit BS fine.
-- SheraadO (2008-07-27 13:40:01)
Just use the normal warp, cancel warp, warp at distance technique to warp in at desired optimal. Works for me every time.
-- VladimirNabokov (2008-08-03 01:05:48)
Completed this mission in a Recharge Myrmidon.
-- DeimosBarret (2008-08-06 05:33:11)
15:35:07 Combat Kruul's Pleasure Gardens hits you, doing 1477.4 damage.

- This was from 30km out, with 2kin/2therm/dc2 armour tank (Apocalypse Navy Issue). I think this explosion hits to 40km out as it always has. When I get real close I get around 2000 damge with the same tank.
-- StonE (2008-08-07 11:40:26)
This was my 1st level 4 mission and I did not know what was going on! I had not yet discovered this xlent EVE Survival reference. One of my favorites now, it has lots of juicy loot!
-- LotsaBytes (2008-08-21 17:56:01)
Zor is immune to web and target painting. Probably other electronic stuffs too
-- SharriAtal (2008-09-01 17:18:23)
Confirming the instapop thing... if you vaporize Kruul with one volley, the first spawn won't appear.
-- AremonMoonserpent (2008-09-22 16:12:22)
As for what whorehouse is the right one, should you warp out and back in from another direction or so... the structures are not perfectly symmetrical. I need to check that but if you imagine the "wall" constructs around the whorehouses as two triangles pointing outwards, one has a slave pen structure in its tip. The right thingie to blow up should be the one on the other side, inside the "empty tip" triangle.
-- AremonMoonserpent (2008-10-02 16:04:51)
The guide already stated that the Damsel is in the Pleasure Garden farthest away from the warp-in beacon. It's impossible to mistake.
-- SturmWolke (2008-10-02 21:50:04)
Well like I said Sturm, there may be cases where one warps out and back in from another direction. In that case one might need another way to tell which target is "it".
-- AremonMoonserpent (2008-10-15 18:17:02)
The warp-in beacon itself doesn't move. If one warps in from any direction, you can _still_ identify the correct Pleasure Garden without much ado. You can also center your view on the beacon to help with the bearings if you become disoriented.
-- SturmWolke (2008-10-16 06:54:09)
I just did this mission and the Damsel was in the Pleasure Garden closest to the warp in point. Loot was fantastic. Bounties were good.
-- MikeDavout (2008-12-30 20:39:46)
I have successfully done this mission in a passively tanked Drake.
In the unrigged Drake, my shields auto repair rate is about 75 hp per second. All resistances between 76% and 80%.
If you try that one out, i recommend to warp in at about 70 or 100km and keep away from them as far as your targetting and missile range allows. My max. is 75km atm. So I started hitting them at 75km and kept going until mz shields fell to aprox. 10% - then warped out to rebuild shields. Took me 2 warp-outs to get them all down.

Complete setup I used (should only be around 45m ISK in total):

4x Shield Power Relay II
2x Magnetic Scattering Amplifier II
1x Heat Dissipation Amplifier II
1x Kinetic Deflection Amplifier II
1x Explosion Dampening Amplifier II
1x Large Shield Extender II

7x Heavy Missile Launcher II, Caldari Navy Scourge or Scourge Fury Heavy Missile
1x Medium Plasma Smartbomb II

5x Acolyte II

If you dont mind to spend another 45m ISK, you might want to add up to 3x Core Defence Field Purger I, which would probably remove the need to warp out, as it increases my auto-repair at shields up to 145 hp per second.
-- AgatheDuda (2009-01-08 06:05:35)
dominix, 2x LAR II, 1x DC II, EANM II, kin/exp/therm II hardeners, good drone skills and didn't have to warp out even once.

The key is managing the spawns, only one at a time, and start with those which you can kill fastest. (Use sentries as well.) That way, even if they are breaking your tank, they won't do it for enough time to have you warp out.

Fantastic loot, yes. Oh, and be careful not to one-shot Kruul if you want more of it.
-- XoddHil (2009-01-09 20:44:56)
Fairly heavy DPS mission, completed one spawn at a time with a Dominix: 2x LAR II, 1x DCU II, 1x Dark Blood kin/therm/exp. never had to warp out ... but aligned a couple times to prepare to. usually if you take out one of the Sentinels you should be ok. And ... good loot but not so great salvage. Also, second wave seemed to spawn with 25% armor TAKEN not remaining.
-- AmirBaki (2009-02-06 12:19:18)
Looks like it's been nerfed - been through it twice now and neither time did anything spawn when kruul was attacked/killed. We do leave him to last so will try killing him earlier sometime.
-- TheNetdoctor (2009-02-10 09:14:13)
That mission was a joke with that setup

-- SiCSemperTyrannis (2009-03-17 16:48:52)
they have moved the warp in point to make it a bit less obvious which one to kill.
the one you warp in above is the one you need to kill
-- ScatManworlds (2009-03-31 09:31:06)
Not a very hard mission. Used a CNR with good LSB, SBA, 2 Invuln, 1 x kin, 1 x therm hardeners.

warped in at 70 km.
-- UzukiShootme (2009-04-26 16:46:58)
The tip on using torpedo's was excellent; works out very well indeed. Using 6x 800mm Autocannons and 2x siege launchers. Finished the mission within 20mins.
-- RagnaValdr (2009-05-27 06:15:32)
I'd missed the above part about *spawns*caused*by*damage*to*the*Garden* ... if you DON'T get the spawns, then you're shooting the wrong one. They WILL come, so don't go afk like I did, lol. My drones weren't damaging it, but maybe that was a glitch in my client.
-- JenkSen (2009-06-17 17:30:35)
for me spawn 2 triggered at ~75% armor remaining, still with the 4 bs's, 4 cruisers and spider drones
-- StrykeZor (2009-07-05 08:42:02)
completed in a blaster hyperion. the trick to not having to warp out is to get rid of DPS fast, which means kill the BS first while your lights eat any pesky webber/scram frigs.

the pleasure hub with the damsel routinely drops drugs such as vitoc and charge.
-- KaeloLePetit (2009-07-11 06:27:25)
Run the mission on 2009-07-12.

All of the battleships there use MWD or otherwise are very fast. At least I was able to hit them with large beam lasers even if they orbited me only 3km away.
-- MapinTan (2009-07-13 02:33:27)
Blitzed in under 10mins, Ishtar.
Killed Casino, dome with sentries, was 24km from cans and webbed, warped out to refresh shield, warped back in tracktored can and warped out with around 20% shields.

Dual 150mm carbide rails x3, BRC:SPR 1 x5, LSE2 x 3, 10MN AB2, Caldari Invul, purger2 and Sentry Aug2 rigs, Garde2 x 5.

Would have been better to have swapped the 10mn for LSE2. (EFT listing 488 uniform defence and 555 dps with my skills)
-- VisionThing (2009-08-17 19:49:08)
my drones were 15k from the bld and only 1 got damaged from the explotion
-- KrystalFlores (2009-08-18 02:30:54)
This mission is FUN. I've done it in a Paladin and a Golem before, solo. It's very good for loot, bounties and salvage.

If using a turret boat, mind transversal and try to pop some of the BSes before they get too close. If using a missile boat, laugh at them and load up on Kinetic. Seems to be the best damage type to use.

If you're in a Golem, and using torpedoes, just load up 100% on Juggernauts, and watch them die. With T2 torpedo launchers and level 4 support for missiles, you should be able to pop them in 2-3 vollies.
-- ForteEXE (2009-09-18 05:41:57)
Done in a golem:

-- GreenGimp (2009-10-10 17:27:38)
Pocket 1: Read the guide!! Very important. Flew away from them in my T2 fitted Rokh. (normal difficulty)
-- MrT (2009-10-11 18:01:18)
Done in a Megathron. Salvage has only circuit boards and scrap metal. 2.000m3 of loot. 5M in bounties, around 1.8M of mission rewards.

Very easy mission if you control the spawns.
-- MrTetsuo (2009-10-30 02:20:50)
If you have an alt or a friend tagging along in a low level ship to help you salvage (so you don't have to deal with ninja looters) warn them to get the hell out of the area BEFORE you blow up the garden. It might SAY 30-40KM in the mission briefing in big, bold letters but my alt lost a Cormorant and we were about 60k out from the explosion. Stay on the safe side...have the little ship warp out and warp back in!
-- SuisIdol (2009-11-22 08:23:48)
video - done in t2 paladin

-- AsCendancy (2009-11-24 20:03:12)
Passive drake with 7 T2 launchers and 5 T1 Hobs clears this mission in 45 min.
-- PhantumKnight (2009-12-06 12:14:46)
Blitzed in a tengu, managed it without killing any npcs (except the two spider drones), very good fun
-- StrykeZor (2010-02-12 12:19:35)
Spawn 1 & 2 shoot fleetmates, but spawn 3 doesn't seem to. Also, that AoE blast is huge, almost wiped out my alt's osprey at crazy range.
-- AsdayXyfu (2010-02-20 09:07:09)
Done in a Dominix, dual rep, with Drones as my DPS. For some reason, I didn't get roflpwned by the explosion... didn't even register the hit, and my drones survived as well...
-- PlanetaryGenocide (2010-03-13 16:53:05)
I should note that I was less than 30KM away from it and I did get the message in local about ammunition going boom
-- PlanetaryGenocide (2010-03-13 16:54:11)
The blast has never affected my drones.
-- WikiThaedius (2010-03-14 13:11:15)
total incoming DPS from everything apart from the bonus spawn OR Zor as I couldn't find data for him

1513 @
7% EM
63% Thermal
25% kinetic
6%explosive
-- SmurfityBob (2010-04-11 20:42:02)
Completed in Caldari Navy Raven. Made sure I didn't shoot Kruul first. Each time I damaged the Garden enough to cause a spawn I stopped shooting and immediately dispatched BS.

High slots:
7 x XT-9000 Cruise Missile Launchers loaded with Cataclysm Cruise Missiles
1 x Drone Link Aug

Mids:
2 x Invulnerability Field II
1 x Ballistic Defelection Field II
1 x Heat Dissipation Field II
1 x Caldari Navy X-Large Shield Booster
1 x Caldari Navy Shield Boost Amplifier

Lows:
2 x Ballistic Control System II
3 x Capacitor Flux Coil II

Rigs:
3 x Large Capacitor Control Circuit
-- RentBoyUk (2010-04-13 16:04:45)
Can't use target painters on ZOR. Message indicates it is not permitted. Must be a Tyrannis tweak?
-- InZax (2010-05-29 07:52:52)
After Tyrannis the loots got greatly nerfed: they were previously over 14 millions for a complete run, now they're less than 3 millions.. :((
-- DaemoN (2010-06-05 13:01:25)
Completed this in T2 fitted Drake, no warp outs, shields never dropped below 50%
7x Heavy Missile Launcher II w/ T1 Widowmakers
4x LSE II's
1x Kin Hardener II
1x Therm Hardener II

3x SPR II's
1x RCU II

Didn't set drones to passive, so I got full aggro from 6x BS spawn when you hit kruul. My DPS is a little light, so took a little while but otherwise no hairy moments
-- KarlTerantulan (2010-07-07 11:48:27)
Got loot from this mission today which was around 12.6M ISK worth. Including salvaged mat.
-- TtoraiEve (2010-09-23 03:51:31)
Did this twice today, bunch of loot including about 7 meta 4 large turrets and one Zor's custom hyper-link (+5% to ab/mwd speed). I'm too lazy to loot everything or salvage, but if you slowboat around the large wrecks while you're killing the next set of guys and loot those it's still worth it.
-- DomInare (2010-10-29 12:06:45)
The loot for this mission is generally not worth the effort for me anymore. I fly Tengu and blitz it.

Kill the Pleasure Garden, loot Damsel, kill/loot Zor then warp out. The DPS is quite high by the time the structure explodes but its doable in a fast ship.

Last few times looting/salvaging only produced 2 - 5 million not including bounties.
-- SinxarKnights (2011-02-14 04:48:06)
Completed this in a Navy Domi without warping, or moving for that matter. Armor never went below about 2/3. Just sit and let them (quickly) come to you and pick them off with your Gardes as they approach. When they get into web range, web them and watch them melt in no time. Take out battleships as soon as they get into range as they do more dps than their bounties would make you think.

My Spawn 2 triggered at about 75% armor left - anyone observing similar behaviour?
-- AethlynEve (2011-05-07 11:29:48)
Watch out everyone: since Incarna the blast from the Pleasure Gardens WILL destroy all your drones. See patch notes: drones now always take AoE damage in missions. Just lost a full flight of Hammerhead II's in this mission, so remember to recall your drones before blowing up the gardens.
-- AsCreon (2011-06-22 05:38:45)
UPDATE : killing Kruul first will not STOP the spawn. Spawn appears when I damage the Hub enough.
-- RyanLongbow (2011-07-31 11:16:41)
My first spawn, the structure was at about 30% shield and 50% armor, second wave was near 10% hull. bit oh advice, use cheap T1 drones to destroy the pleasure garden from 50 km out. I took absolutely no damage at all from the explosion.

Mission was run with a Blaster domi. 2 T2 LARs, 2 T2 kin and 2 T2 therm hardeners and a DCU for fun. only hard part was when the BS in the final spawn came out. didnt break me tank but made me sweat a bit. Just keep switching out Oger IIs for Hammerhead IIs depending on the ship you're shooting.
-- RaxxiorKrese (2011-09-19 02:29:04)
Just had this mission, the trigger was the garden closest to the warp beacon.
-- JaneDoe (2011-12-28 19:43:52)
First spawn trigger when 75% armor remaining, confirming what AethlynEve saw.

Done the mission twice, trigger was the garden farthest away from the beacon.

Completed (killed everything) in a navy geddon in less than 20 minutes using T1 guns.

1x T2 LAR, 2x T2 Armor Therm, 2x T2 Armor Kin. Had no issues tanking at all.
-- LolesChech (2012-02-07 19:24:02)
I wanted to test my Gila's 1600 DPS tank vs. Mercs (according to the damage distribution listed - 63/24/6/7). Note the Gila has pretty nice deadspace mods, T2 purgers, and a couple okay implants. Was holding relatively well around 40% shields after spawning everything except the wave of 6 BSs labeled Spawn 1 above. However, that was with a little speed tanking (212 m/s) as well.

So, the estimate by BlasTerd is probably pretty accurate. With absolutely everything spawned in this mission, you probably need about 2200 DPS tank if you want to just sit there and watch your ship get bombarded. Fun stuff.
-- MissionSurvivor (2012-03-13 21:13:26)
I usually blow up the Casino to get all the loot. Today I noticed that, instead of dropping some people, it dropped about 50 Units of drugs. Just a little heads up if you're like me and just loot/salvage everything blindly and have that contraband warning message disabled ;)
-- NightlinerSGS (2013-02-16 22:43:03)
Just did this one today but with a little twist. I always leave Kruul last, but today due to abit afking he was orbiting me at about 2k,so when I started engaging him, my 800's missed (doh) so it ended up that my drones took him out. Don't know if this was a glitch or not, but the result was no 6 BS spawn... :( rest of the spawns arrived as normal once the armor/hull reached it's damage levels...so avoid this if you want the 6 BS spawn.
-- StrepTo (2013-05-16 14:10:15)
Unlike an above comment, I found the loot well worth a Noctis trip - lots of high quality guns, armor, all close together. [Autocannon Sleipner]
-- JackUnderhill (2013-07-12 12:38:21)
Did this one today. Bounty same as in description. Loot and salvage is worth it. Got a total of exactly 20mil isk with my Noctis(only junk implant dropped by Zor).
-- GunVer (2014-05-07 12:59:43)
Done this mission today. The pleasure garden with the damsel is the one _close_ to the warp-in beacon.
-- WendelgardZwei (2014-09-17 08:56:03)
Did this today in my armor tanked Stratios, lost couple of drones and nearly got killed twice. Beat it, but not easily. Lots of loot, more than 10mil with salvage. Bring your MWD or Tractor Unit for the loot. Better not attempt this with a Straios.

A fast and clean way to blitz this is to fit weapons with 100km+ range, a MicroJumpDrive and a Mobile Tractor Unit.

Once you're in, deploy your MTU, then use your MJD and jump to safe distance.
Destroy the Slave Pen, then do ANOTHER jump in the same direction. You can now
directly WARP to your MTU, which by now should have picked up the damsel.
Pick up your MTU and warp out.
